The Texas Tech men's golf team needed to move up fifteen spots to advance in the NCAA Golf Championships at Capital City Club at Crabapple.  They could only manage to move up nine as they finished tied for 14th with a score of 7-over par (847) for the championship and effectively ending their season.

Sophomore Clement Sordet led all players with a 5-under 65.  His day started off a little rocky as he bogeyed his first hole of the day.  Sordet would recover though making six birdies on the round.  The tie for 14th is the fourth-best finish at the NCAA Championship by a Texas Tech squad and is the second top-15 finish for head coach Gary Sands.

Another Sophomore, Henry Todd, finished with a (-2) 68 for the second consecutive round. Overall, Todd was (-1) for his three rounds and he placed 26th among the individual rankings.

California is sitting atop the leader board with a 16-under with a team score of 824. The top eight teams moved on to the final round at the NCAA Championship.
