Texas Tech Men’s Golf Finishes Second at Big 12 Championship
For the second consecutive year, #9 Texas Tech Men's golf finished in second place at the Big 12 Championship. This year's tourney was played at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Texas Longhorns claimed their third Big 12 Men's Golf title.
"The guys played well, played hard, Texas just played better," Texas Tech head coach Greg Sands said after play concluded. "It stinks, it hurts because these guys have had a great year but we tip our hats to them. We brought a lot of confidence in but they just played better and sometimes that's all you can do is play your best."
Tech's highest finishing golfer was Clement Sordet (pictured) who tied for third at +7, shooting 71, 70, 73, 73 (287 +7) in his four round.
Texas Tech now awaits its postseason selection, as the NCAA Tournament field will be announced on Monday, May 4 at 9am on The Golf Channel. The Red Raiders will be making their 14th consecutive trip to the NCAA Regionals, set to be hosted at the Rawls Course in Lubbock on May 15-17
