The Texas Tech offense opened against UTEP by driving straight down the field in nine plays covering 50 yards and finishing the first Red Raider drive of the game with a five-yard touchdown run from Ta'Zhawn Henry.

That would be the only points in the 4th quarter, though, as the Red Raider offense would struggle in the next few drives, punting twice and mustering just 13 yards on nine plays.

Alan Bowman would respond with a touchdown drive going 7-8 and finishing a 77-yard drive with a touchdown pass to TJ Vasher.

On the next drive, Bowman would throw an interception before finding Dalton Rigdon on the following drive near the line of scrimmage. Rigdon did the rest, streaking down the sideline for a touchdown.

All and all, a 21-point lead is nothing to complain about, but the Red Raiders looked stale going against this UTEP defense in the first night game of 2019.

The defense, however, had a dominant half, holding UTEP to 53-total yards and forcing seven punts.
