It is the team’s second appearance at the champion in the past three seasons, and the seventh time under Head Coach Greg Sands.

"It never gets old making it to the National Championship," said Sands. "We have had a good week of preparation and the guys seem ready. Not everybody is going to play perfect every day but the golf course is going to be great and I think as long as our guys stay patient we'll be good to go."

Senior Clement Sordet led Tech to a second-place finish at the Regional Tournament held in Lubbock at the Rawls Course, the Red Raiders’ home course,  by tying for top medalist honors.

The Red Raider team carries a ton of momentum into the tournament.

Sordert has finished in the top 10 in nine of the last 12 tournaments and has averaged shooting a 70.6 during that stretch.

Sophomore Hannes Ronnebald turned in the best individual round during the regional tournament shooting a five-under par 66 on Friday.

Freshmen Mito Pereira and Wes Artac both earned All-Big 12 honors by virtue of tying for 10th during that tournament.

The Concession is laid out to play as a par 72 at 7,483 yards for the Championship Tournament.

"Patience is going to be the key," Sands said. "The golf course, from what we hear, is separating and tough. So the message to the guys this week is there are going to be good rounds but you're going to have to hang in there with the rounds you struggle and get it in the house."
