Lady Raiders Play Host to Kansas at United Supermarkets Arena Wednesday

The Texas Tech Lady Raiders return to action Wednesday night when they play host to the Kansas Jayhawks (9-9, 0-5) at the United Supermarkets Arena with tipoff slated for 7 pm.

Tech (12-5, 2-3 Big 12) comes into Wednesday night's game following a close loss on the road against No. 4 Texas on Saturday

An improved defense has led to more success for Candi Whitaker and her team. During Big 12 Conference play Tech's opponents are averaging only 55.6 points per game. Three of Tech's five conference opponents have been held to 55 points or less.

Kansas (9-9, 0-5) is searching for its first conference win of the season after a 9-4 campaign in non-conference play. The Jayhawks are 0-4 on the road including two losses in conference play to Texas and Kansas State. Kansas is averaging just 49 points per game on the road in Big 12 play - 16 points lower than its season average.

On the offensive end of the floor senior guard Amber Battle continues to pace the Lady Raiders on offense in conference play. She's averaging 14.4 points per game and 17.7 in her last three. scored a game-high 20 points in Tech's win over West Virginia on Jan. 14. It was the first time this season Battle had back-to-back games of 20 points or more. She scored a season-high 23 against Oklahoma on Saturday. Battle has scored in double figures in 10 of 11 games this season.
