Kliff Kingsbury and the Texas Tech Red Raiders have moved up into the top 10 teams in the nation according to the AP top 25 poll.  As of Sunday the Red Raiders joined the Baylor Bears as the two teams that represent the Big 12 conference in the top ten rankings.  Texas Tech did so after their 37-27 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday afternoon.

The Top 10 teams according to the AP poll look like this:  Alabama, Oregon, Florida State, Ohio State, Missouri, Baylor, Miami (FL), Stanford, Clemson, and Texas Tech.

This marks the highest the Red Raiders have been ranked since the 2008 year when they won 10 games.  Kliff Kingsbury and company sit at 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in Big 12 play.  Texas Tech is still tied a top the Big 12 standings along with those Baylor Bears and the Texas Longhorns.

The #10 ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders will put that ranking to the test this week as they have arguably their hardest game of the season.  That game is a road trip up to Norman, Oklahoma to take on the #17 ranked Sooners.  If Tech can continue to win, it could make their match-up against Baylor in Dallas have some real bowl implications.  Maybe even a national championship birth if the cards fall right.
