The Reason We Celebrate Memorial Day
On Memorial Day, I think it's important to pause for a moment and reflect on what this holiday is, and what it isn’t.
Many Americans view this day as the kick-off to summer. Nothing more than a three-day weekend, a reason to barbecue, and a reason to drink.
In reality, Memorial Day is a day to reflect and remember the thousands of men and women who died while serving our country.
For thousands of families, this day isn’t a holiday, but a painful reminder of the son, daughter, brother, sister, husband, wife, uncle, aunt, or grandchild that never returned home.
As you enjoy yourselves this weekend, also take a moment to remember all the families who are going into this day with a hole in their heart.
