Man Sentenced for Attempted Transfer of Obscene Material to a Minor

41 year-old Miguel Castillo was sentenced in Lubbock Friday (May 25) to more than 2 years in prison for attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor.

Back in February, Castillo took a plea deal for the charge.

A few months before the plea, a Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office deputy was acting undercover as a 14-year-old girl on Instagram. Castillo would bring up sexual topics on Instagram, and when he made arrangements to meet the girl, he instead met officers who arrested him.
