Texas Tech Red Raider Softball dropped its second consecutive game in the Kajikawa Classic in less than 12 hours Friday. Texas Tech fell to the No. 9 Tennessee Volunteers 1-0 in a pitchers duel taking place in Tempe, AZ at the Tempe Sports Complex.

The Red Raiders (1-2) were held to just two hits in the loss and were struck out fourteen times by Volunteers (2-1) pitcher Ellen Renfro. Texas Tech pitcher Brittany Talley (0-1) took the loss giving up one run off six hits in the complete game finish.

The Red Raiders close the tournament Saturday with another doubleheader. Tech will face No. 9 Stanford at noon (CT) before wrapping the day against Cal Poly later in the evening at 9:30 p.m.
