On Thursday morning, former Nevada Wolf Pack turned Red Raider McLane Mannix was announced as a preseason candidate for the Biletnikoff Award which is given to the most outstanding wide receiver in the NCAA.

It's a terrific start to the Texas Tech career for Mannix as he looks to be a focal point of the offense this season. During his two seasons in for Nevada, Mannix caught 107 passes for 1,653 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns as a slot receiver in the Wolf Pack's spread offense.

Mannix was also a freshman All-American during his first year for Nevada and will look to become the first Red Raider to win the Biletnikoff Award since Michael Crabtree in both 2007 and 2008.
