Kliff Kingsbury Honored Late Luke Gonsioroski in Subtle Way
Luke Gonsioroski was the preferred walk-on quarterback who signed with Texas Tech for the 2017 class and was set to be in Lubbock this Fall but unfortunately succumbed to his cancer that he had been fighting so valiantly.
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury already sent the family all of Gonsioroski's jerseys, and now he has honored the memory of Luke Gonsioroski in another special, but subtle, way.
By wearing the initials LG on his shoes.
It's a small thing, but I think it's just another example of Coach Kingsbury doing what's right.
I don't know how many times Coach Kingsbury talked to Luke Gonsioroski, but he must have been a very special young man. Kingsbury knew Gonsioroski was never going to come here and start, but he recognized his fighting spirit and has been so affected by him that he's decided to honor him by wearing his initials.
Every time I hear a story like this it makes me root a little harder for Kliff Kingsbury, and the Red Raiders.
