Ex-Red Raider Strength Coach Rusty Whitt Officially Joins New Team
Rusty Whitt, American badass and former Red Raiders strength coach, has found the perfect new home at West Point.
Whitt will join the staff at Army as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and no doubt be a great fit for that university and system.
Whitt goes to the Banks of the Hudson after spending three seasons as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Texas Tech football team. He was released during the late 2018 Kliff Kingsbury staff exodus.
Whitt is a veteran of the United States Army and has 10 total seasons as a D1 strength coach.
Before Whitt got into coaching, he served as a Senior Special Forces Communication Sergeant in the 10th Special Forces Group. Whitt was a member of the U.S. Army from Aug. 2003-Jan. 2009, where he was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Whitt joins Coronado Mustang and Lubbock native Trey Stephens at Army. Stephens signed with them on National Signing Day.
Coach Monken is getting two incredible dudes with Whitt and Stephens joining the program.
