Aloha BBQ Closure Continues, Will This Ever End?
It's come to the attention of the Lubbock community that Aloha BBQ shows on Google that they are permanently closed, but is that the actual case?
Aloha BBQ is known for sometimes closing for a short period of time, but this time it seems longer. People first started noticing that they were closed when they had a sign on their door that said "closed for an emergency" back in August.
Then, when you called their number, it would have different dates and times they would be closed from. But do we really know what's going on?
Currently, as of November 1st, 2021, Google still says Aloha BBQ is closed. When you call their number, the inbox is full. A sign on the eatery's door currently says it's closed through December 30th. When you call every month, the opening gets pushed back. This last time they said they were opening in November, and now it's been pushed back two more months.
When I stopped by Aloha BBQ at lunchtime today, multiple people were walking up, sad to see this sign on the door. Looks like they're still gone, but why? And will they actually open back up in January?
After digging around, we have no idea for the past three months. And now, it seems like no one really knows. I've reached out to them and have yet to hear back. Some have claimed on social media that the owners go to Hawaii for a couple months, so maybe the closure is related to that. Let's just hope Aloha BBQ will be back, period.
