Yesterday afternoon Zhaire Smith was sent to the Blue Coats.

Today, He's been recalled by the 76ers.

That doesn't mean he's going to stay, or debut, with the 76ers this Saturday.

Head coach Brett Brown said this afternoon that Smith was basically called up to go through shootaround with the NBA roster guys, but nothing else.

Brown didn't even sound confident that Smith would be available for the G-League game Friday night. Likely, the call up is just a technicality that allows Smith to workout with the NBA team before returning to the G-League once he is available for play.

Which is likely soon. Hopefully.

Here are some of Brown's comments on Smith including one where he emphasizes just how much "bounce" Zhaire Smith has.

Not only is Zhaire making an impression on the head coach, but he's also making an impression on the veterans of the team. Jimmy Butler in particular, who isn't a terrible role model for Smith's skill set, has taken to the rookie.

The guy who was run out of Chicago and Minnesota for working too hard and "bullying" the young team members into working as hard as he does, wants to be more like the rookie who hasn't played a game in the NBA. Fascinating.
