Did you ever want to play against a Texas Tech team or be on the practice team? Now is your chance basketball lovers.

The Texas Tech Lady Raiders basketball team posted to Facebook this weekend saying they are looking for more players to join the practice team.

What this means is you come out to their practices and pretend to be the other team so that the players have someone else to play with and get better. This is something I wish I could do but I haven't played in a long time.

They said, “we are looking to add more male practice players. If you are interested in joining our team, please contact Plenette Pierson at coach.pierson@ttu.edu.”

The best part? If you join the team you will earn and get free Texas Tech gear and you can never have enough of that. They say they are looking for male students to help them out.

You can see more here. The Lady Red Raiders team will begin its season against Jackson State on November 15th at the United Supermarkets Arena at home. Only their preseason schedule is out right now.

Texas Tech Will Go 5-7 if the FPI is Correct

The ESPN FPI, or the Football Power Index, is a mathematical formula like they have in any other league. It claims to, "measure a team's true strength on net points scale; expected point margin vs average opponent on a neutral field." according to ESPN. The projected results are based on 20,000 simulations of the rest of the season using the FPI as a model. The preseason projections are incomplete because a large piece of the puzzle is results that have already happened, impacting the remaining schedule. So, based on half the puzzle, Texas Tech is projected to get wins in five of their games. These projections change daily once the season starts, but it's good to get a baseline on what is analytically expected of you heading into the season.
