Texas Tech Football Says a West Texas Storm Is Coming

If there's one thing that new Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire and his football program know how to do, it's creating hype. The Ric Flair GIFs, the coaches buying into the cactus emoji trend, and their infectious personalities all merge into an unstoppable machine of excitement. Add in an incredible social media team, and Texas Tech football feels like a contender.

At least in the preseason.

Fans should be taking a conservative approach heading into the season, but the team is being extremely aggressive in the promotion of the program. As they should be.

The West Texas pride has been off the charts this summer since the TCU recruiting director claimed that nothing good happens in West Texas. Now, Texas Tech says they're a West Texas storm that's coming for the Big 12.

Talk about an absolute home run of a video package from Texas Tech here. The Rodney Allison voiceover is the perfect match for the message, and the practice shots are as good as practice shots can be. Sure, Week 1 is just Murray State which doesn't provide much heat, but the following three weeks could alter Texas Tech's season dramatically.

If Texas Tech storms through Houston, North Carolina State and the Texas Longhorns, they'll be flooding the confidence heading into a tough two-game Big 12 road trip to Stillwater and Manhattan.
