The Texas Rangers Sneak Past the Houston Astros on Saturday Night
The Texas Rangers took on divisional and state foe the Houston Astros on Saturday night. They sent starter Derek Holland to the mound opposite Houston's starter Brad Peacock. Neither was awarded the win however as the bullpens would sort this game out in the later innings.
Now Peacock had one of his best starts of the year last night as the Rangers' only run off him came on a A.J. Pierzynski's home run. He left the game with a 3-1 lead, but the Astros' bullpen would end up blowing another game. Reliever Lucas Harrell was once again awarded the loss as he is now 5-11 on the season. Harrell was originally a starter for Houston, but due to some struggles through out the season he has spent much of his recent time in the bullpen.
Texas' starter Dered Holland also had a strong outing as he went six innings while giving up three runs off of six hits. He also struck out six Astros in the no decision outing.
The two Texas teams will continue their four game weekend series today with first pitch set for 12:05 pm from Minute Maid Park in Houston.
