Derek Holland Set to Make His Return Against the Mariners
Tickets are on sale for $4.50 in honor of no. 45 Derek Holland, who started the home opener on April 10 this season and left with shoulder tightness.
Holland is finally ready to make his second start. After an 89 pitch rehab start at AAA, Round Rock Holland texted his big league manager Jeff Banister. "Knock Knock," he said, following the beginning to the classic joke with: "It's me. I'm at the door, let me in."
Bannister, apparently, listened to Holland and is putting him on the mound tonight in the rubber match against Seattle.
Holland, who missed time last year, will look to continue his trend of late season magic. Last year in the midst of the dumpster fire, he made six starts with an ERA of 1.46 and a 2-0 record.
Mike Napoli will be in the lineup for the Rangers, making his third start since being acquired from the Red Sox on Aug. 7. He is 2 for 6 in the two games that he's started.
Derek Holland and the Rangers will face Mike Montgomery (4-5, 4.14 ERA) at 1:05 p.m. CT.
