One of Lubbock's best patios is about to get a new name with a few more dinner options, including steak and seafood.

E&J Smokehouse at the Spirit Ranch announced on Facebook Wednesday that they would be undergoing some changes over the next few weeks. There will still be mesquite smoked BBQ, but the name and concept is going to be changing.

Say goodbye to E&J Smokehouse and hello to The Escondido Grill.

Of course the location, patio, and year-round live music will be staying the same and the family friendly restaurant will continue to offer a unique atmosphere. But with a new name comes a new menu. According to the E&J Smokehouse Facebook page, the concept of a Southwest Grill will allow them to offer a "more diverse, fun, and creative menu".

The Escondido Grill plans on serving hand cut steaks, hand breaded chicken fried steak and chicken along with seafood that will flown in. They also plan to serve pasta dishes, desserts, and more. They also plan to have craft beers and cocktails.

According to the owners, The Escondido Grill will officially roll out the new menu on Tuesday, November 30. So after you've had your fill of turkey and turkey sandwiches along with any other leftovers, you can head out to the new Escondido Grill located at the Spirit Ranch which is located at 701 Regis Street in North Lubbock.

I really hope this concept takes off. It is a beautiful and unique location that I feel is forgotten about all too often. I can't wait to try it out.
