Over the weekend, Plainview Police arrested a man that may have been responsible for a robbery at a Plainview grocery store and driving a stolen car from Lubbock.

On Sunday, November 7th, Plainview Police officers responded to reports of an intoxicated individual inside a restaurant in the 1000 block of West 24th Street.

Upon arrival, the individual was identified as Angel Joseph Rodriquez. At the scene, authorities learned that the vehicle Rodriquez drove was reported stolen out of Lubbock the day before on Saturday, November 6th.

Rodriquez is accused of committing a robbery at the Amigos in the 2400 block of North Columbia Street in Plainview prior to the public intoxication call.

Officers attempted to arrest Rodriquez but he tried running, leading officers on a brief foot-chase. He was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, public intoxication, theft, and attempted escape.
