Texas Tech's sophomore quarterback Davis Webb has been named to another award watch list this week as he was named as one of 39 athletes to be nominated to the Davey O'Brien Award list.  This award is given annually to the nations top collegiate quarterback.  Webb joins a large group of former Red Raider quarterbacks named to the watch list by the Davey O'Brien Foundation, including Seth Doege, Taylor Potts, Graham Harrell and his current head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

In his freshman year, Webb was able to rack up 2,718 yards along with 20 touchdowns while splitting time with Baker Mayfield and Michael Brewer in 2013.  He closed the season leading the Red Raiders to a 37-23 victory over No. 14 Arizona State at the Holiday Bowl, earning Offensive MVP honors after going 28-of-41 with 403 yards and four touchdowns through the air.

The Davey O'Brien Foundation will trim the watch list to 16 semifinalists on Nov. 3 before naming three finalists three weeks later on Nov. 24. The 2014 Davey O'Brien winner will be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show that will air December 11th on ESPN.  The 38th annual Davey O'Brien Awards Dinner will be held February 16th, 2015, in Fort Worth, Texas.
