The Texas Tech Red Raider soccer team shuts out New Mexico 2-0 to get off to their third straight 2-0 start.

Both Red Raider goals came in the second half. Commenting on the performance, Texas Tech head soccer coach Tom Stone stated, "The strength of today's game is that we were able to flex our roster a bit and the fresh legs really made a difference. It is really tough to play on Friday and Sunday, especially this early in the season. When we went to our fresh legs and changed our roster out almost completely on the field, the game really turned in our direction."

Stone seemed pleased the the Red Raiders performance. They will need to continue the trend of strong play as they head to Ft. Worth to participate in the TCU invitational. They will open play against Stephen F. Austin.
