Texas Tech Soccer Earns Host Honors in NCAA Tournament
Not only is the Texas Tech soccer squad back in the NCAA tournament after missing the 2017 tourney, they are hosting the opening round game this Friday, November 9th, at 6 p.m..
According to texastech.com, Texas Tech will return to the big dance for the sixth time in seven years this weekend, playing host to Ivy League champion Princeton under the lights at the John Walker Complex on Friday.
This will be the first-ever matchup between the Tigers and Red Raiders as Texas Tech hosts its first NCAA game since 2015. The Red Raiders have a perfect 4-0 record in the friendliest city in America all-time in NCAA tournament games.
Texas Tech has a rich history this decade in the NCAA soccer tournament as the Red Raiders have reached the second round in four of their five appearances, and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in 2014.
By the way, the NFL isn't the only professional league being run by Red Raiders who keep up with Texas Tech. Janine Beckie, who plays for Manchester City and the Canada women's national soccer team, has a keen eye on the Red Raiders entering the tournament.
