For the 4th consecutive year the Red Raider Basketball team will try to plug in a grad transfer to fill a major need on the squad. The good news is that Chris Beard is hitting at a pretty good average locking in Anthony Livingston, Tommy Hamilton, Matt Mooney and Tariq Owens were all important pieces to their teams.

The next guy in line is TJ Holyfield who commits to Texas Tech over Kansas and Illinois.

While at Stephen F. Austin Holyfield was listed as 6'8" and 230 lbs and averaged 24 minutes per game. He started in all 101 games he played in. As a Junior he averaged 13 points and 6 boards per game. He also shot 41% from the three point line and tallied 133 blocks in three seasons.

In Holyfield's only game against Texas Tech he had 10 points and 4 rebounds in a 10 point loss in the first round of the NCAA tournament back in 2018, which is also the final game he played for SFA after missing 2018-19 with a shoulder injury.

Holyfield joins a class of 7 commits to make the number 8 and the 12th ranked class nationally and 2nd class in the Big 12. Several different outlets ranked Holyfield as a top 25 grad transfer in the country.
