Multiple sources have reported that Pat Knight has been fired as the head coach of Texas Tech's basketball team.

Knight led the Red Raider basketball team to a 13-18 record this season and a 5-11 mark in the Big 12. This was the third full season for coach Knight at Texas Tech as he took over during the 07-08 season after his father Bob Knight retired during the season.

Pat leaves Texas Tech with a career record of 50-60 during his near three and a half seasons. His best year at Texas Tech was the 09-10 season as Tech went 19-16 and reached the quarterfinals in the NIT.

Knight will coach the team during the Big 12 tournament that begins March 9th in Kansas City. The Red Raiders are the 11 seed in the conference tournament and will battle the 6 seed of Missouri on Wednesday night at 8:30.
