Former Texas Tech and current Lamar Cardinals Men's Basketball Head Coach Pat Knight ripped his seniors for a lack of leadership and execution that is reminiscent of his father, Hall of Fame coach Bob Knight. The younger Knight told the media that his team had the, "worst group of seniors" he has ever been around after the Cardinals lost 62-52 at home to Stephen F. Austin in Southland Conference play.

Knight wasn't done with his verbal lashing of his seniors by saying they had "awful" attitudes and accused them of theft by  "stealing money by being on scholarship." He continued by saying that Lamar (17-11, 8-5 Southland) will not win another without a change in his team's attitude on and off the court. Knight did reference the past suspensions on his team for drug use and violating team rules and curfews in the post-game press conference.

Lamar currently sits in 2nd place in the Southland East Division with three games left in the regular season before the conference tournament.
