Patrick Mahomes to Make First NFL Career Start in Week 17
With the Kansas City Chiefs' playoff berth locked up, former Red Raider signal caller Patrick Mahomes will get his chance to play in his first regular-season game since being drafted this offseason. Mahomes will lead his Chiefs squad into Denver against their divisional rival.
The Chiefs have already clinched the division and a playoff spot, so this will be a relatively pressure-free game for the rookie. The Broncos are ranked as the 29th best pass defense in the NFL, which bodes well for Mahomes.
If Mahomes is starting, I can assume other starters will be sitting out. Still, this is a great chance for the ex-Red Raider to show what he has against NFL talent.
Alex Smith will be the starter next week when the playoffs start.
Bonus: Since the Kansas City Chiefs are playing the Denver Broncos, you can hear him play right here on 1340 The Fan.
