The March regular meeting of the Lubbock Power & Light Electric Utility Board has been rescheduled.  Originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, the meeting has been moved to Tuesday, March 30. The meeting will be held at 11am in City Council Chambers at Citizens Tower; which is located at 1314 Avenue K, in downtown Lubbock.

The agenda for the March Electric Utility Board Meeting has been released, and it includes a number of items for discussion in both executive session and regular session.

This includes LP&L's ongoing transition from the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) to ERCOT, the construction of the transmission lines from LP&L to ERCOT, the ongoing effects from February's winter storm on LP&L's service level, and the approval of some purchase orders and other expenditures for LP&L.

Specifically, agenda item 3.4 reads, "Presentation and discussion of impacts of flooding event regarding the City of Lubbock Utilities building on or about March 12, 2021, and related issues including but not limited to business operations and call center logistics." and item 3.5 is, "Presentation and discussion by the Director of Electric Utilities or his designee, regarding the status of Lubbock Power & Light’s transition to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (“ERCOT”)."

The March Electric Utility Board meeting will be the first meeting in recent memory which will be held in-person at City Council Chambers inside Citizens Tower. Previous meetings, over the past year, have been held in a virtual format due to COVID-19.
