The Texas Primary Elections are Tuesday, March 1, and the final day of Early Voting was Friday, February 25. Friday the 25th, saw 4,405 Lubbock County voters cast ballots for the primary.

The 4,405 votes was the highest single-day total in Lubbock County for the 2022 Early Voting period. A total of 19,680 voters participated in Early Voting in Lubbock County for the primary election. That's down from 22,747 early votes cast in the 2020 Primary, but up from 15,430 early votes cast in the 2018 Primary.

Four years ago, just 10,727 votes were cast on Election Day in Lubbock County for the Primary Election. That number is expected to be exceeded on Tuesday, due to the contested Republican Primaries for House District 84 and Lubbock County Judge.

The Republicans running for HD 84 are: Kade Wilcox, Carl Tepper, David Glasheen and Cheryl Little. And, the Republicans running for Lubbock County Judge are: Judge Curtis Parrish and Gary Boren.
