Monique Smalls played hero for the Lady Raiders as they upset 18th ranked Oklahoma 61-56 earlier today from the United Spirit Arena. Today's game was the regular season finale for both the Lady Raiders and the Lady Sooners.

Smalls led the way for Tech as she finished the game with a team high 13 points. Also paving the way for the Lady Raiders was junior Kierra Mallard, who added 10 points.

The win improved Texas Tech to 21-9 on the season and 8-8 in the Big 12. It also marks the highest win total for a season for the Lady Raiders under head coach Kristy Curry, and their best record since the 04-05 season under Marsha Sharp.

Texas Tech will now prepare for play in the Big 12 tournament. The Lady Raiders are also a team that could be seeing post season play as many people believe their 21 wins should be good enough for an NCAA berth. They'll have to wait to see.
