Investigators Offer Reward for Information on Lubbock Murder
37-year-old Cassie Oden of Lubbock was murdered on Sunday, and the Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is asking for the public's help.
According to an LPD release, officers responded to reports of an injured woman in the 2700 block of East 2nd Street at around 11:55 p.m. That's where Oden was located with life threatening injuries.
She was pronounced dead at the scene just after midnight.
Officers have determined that Oden was involved in a shooting in the 400 block of MLK Boulevard.
Investigators believe a suspect fired multiple shots at the vehicle, which was occupied by Oden and 3 others. Oden and one of the passengers then fled the area and drove to the 2700 block of East 2nd Street to call for help.
The other 2 passengers, one of which was 24-year-old Preston Beadman, got out of the vehicle at the time of the shooting. Beadman was taken to a hospital for a gunshot wound.
