Houston Starts a Three Game Series Against Oakland
The Houston Astros head to Oakland today as they start a three game weekend series against the Oakland Athletics tonight. Houston had Thursday off as they head into this series on a four game winning streak. With that being said, the Astros club house is still trying to get use to life with out manager Bo Porter. Tom Lawless will take his place as interim manager going forward this year.
Houston will send Brett Oberholtzer to the mound today as he looks for just his fifth win of the year. He currently sits at 4-10 with a 4.39 ERA this season and will be trying to bounce back from his worst outing of the season, a seven-run setback against the Rangers. He made consecutive starts against the A's in late July, allowing a combined five runs in 13 2/3 frames. He will be up against the newly acquired Jeff Samardzjia who in three starts against Houston this season is 2-0 with a 2.78 ERA. First pitch for this game is set for 9:05pm from Oakland.
