Wednesday afternoon the Texas Rangers faced off in the final game of the midweek series against the Oakland Athletics from the Ballpark in Arlington.  The Ranger pitching staff had struggled for the first two games of the series but that would all change thanks to Texas starter Ross Wolf and the rest of the Rangers staff.  He was able to go five innings in his Ranger debut while striking out three and only allowing one run.  Closer Joe Nathan was awarded the save.

The offense came and went in a hurry but it was enough for Ross Wolf(Pictured on the right) and company.  The Texas offense was able to scratch across three runs in the first inning and that would be all they were able to get as they only had six total hits for the game.  It would prove enough though as the Rangers won with a final score of 3-1.  David Murphy and Adrian Beltre were the lone offensive catalysts for Texas as they had the only RBI's in that first inning.

Though the win was nice, the Ranger still lost the midweek series 2-1.  They will look to continue their success as they travel to Safeco Park for a three game weekend series against the Seattle Mariners.  First pitch is set for Friday at 9:10 pm.
