Texas Ranger All-Star Calls It Quits After 21 Seasons
In a statement released through the Texas Rangers social media accounts, Adrian Beltre has announced his retirement from the game of baseball. The future Hall of Famer finishes his career with 21 seasons and 3,166 hits to go along with his 5 Gold Glove awards.
Twitter erupted with thanks for the loveable third baseman with the hashtag #thankyouAB after the statement was released and the official Texas Rangers account seems to be handling it really well:
Others responded with incredible stats from Beltre's career like this one:
Others put out incredible graphics detailing every hit Beltre had since the year 2000:
Adrian Beltre was always more than just his stats and leadership though. He was a show stealer and made baseball fun. One of his all-time greatest antics was the time he moved the on-deck circle after being told to move.
There are also countless memories between him and his infield buddy Elvis Andrus that will never be forgotten. The retirement leaves a gaping hole in the Texas Rangers lineup and infield, but that's for another day.
Today we just want to focus on Adrian Beltre and the incredible career he strung together and the memories he leaves behind. He'll go down as one of the greatest third basemen to ever play the game.
Thanks for everything Adrian.
