David Murphy Leads Texas Rangers to 10-4 Win Over Cleveland Indians

David Murphy had a pair of solo home runs among his four hits and Josh Hamilton put the AL West-leading Texas Rangers ahead to stay with his 20th homer in a 10-4 victory over the Cleveland Indians Tuesday night.

"It's just the answer to a lot of prayers," Murphy told MLB.com. "God has been good and answered a lot of prayers. I'm a big believer that I don't do it alone. It has been a lot of fun. Early in the season, I was trying so hard and wanted to play so well so badly, I got outside of myself as a player. Right now, my approach is solid. I'm not trying to do too much. I'm trying to hit line drives up the middle, and if they make a mistake, I hit one in the gap or hit a home run."

Murphy already had both of his homers, his 10th and 11th of the season, before Hamilton hit a scorching liner off Justin Masterson (11-10) into the right-center field seats by the Texas bullpen for a 4-2 lead in the fifth.

Adrian Beltre extended his hitting streak to 17 games, matching a career high, when he led off the seventh with a 411-foot blast.

Matt Harrison (12-9) gave up three runs on seven hits while pitching into the sixth inning in his first start in nine days. The left-hander struck out four and walked one.

Before Tuesday's game, Nelson Cruz and submarine reliever Darren O'Day were both activated from the disabled list.

With the win over the Indians, the Rangers maintain a 3 game lead over the Los Angeles Angels for the AL West lead.
