The no. 5 Baylor Bears (4-0, 1-0) dominated the Texas Tech Red Raiders (3-2, 0-2) in a 63-35 win Saturday afternoon at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

In addition to beating up on the Red Raiders, the Bears also dominated the Vegas sportsbooks by covering a 17-point spread and scoring the vast majority of points needed to beat an absurd 90 point over/under.

Bears quarterback Seth Russell went 15/23 passing for 286 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. His favorite running back, Shock Linwood, rushed 20 times for 221 yards and two touchdowns. However, Linwood was limited in the second half due to a leg injury.

Texas Tech kept the game competitive within the first five minutes, tying Baylor at 7 with 12:42 left in the first quarter. Patrick Mahomes threw the first of his three touchdown passes, a 55-yard pass, to Zach Austin.

However, the Bears immediately responded by scoring on the ensuing drive. Seth Russell threw the first of his four touchdown passes, a 28-yard strike to KD Cannon. The Cannon touchdown put Baylor up 14-7 with 11 minutes left in the first quarter.

After a Texas Tech punt, Baylor scored again -- a 24-yard touchdown pass from Russell to Corey Coleman. The touchdown extended Baylor's lead to 21-7.

By the time the first quarter ended, Baylor had a 28-14 lead. Fifteen minutes of game time later, Baylor extended their lead further with a 49-21 lead at halftime.

When the second half started, both teams exchanged touchdowns. Texas Tech's score was a Mahomes 25-yard scramble. At this point the score was 56-28 Baylor with 8:25 left in the third quarter.

Then, fatigue and sloppiness settled into the game. Before the third quarter ended, Texas Tech punted once and turned the ball over as well. Baylor punted twice after unsuccessful drives.

Once mop-up time hit in the fourth quarter, both teams managed just once more touchdown each to bring the score to its final margin.
