After spending the last two seasons with the Houston Texans, former Red Raider wideout Wes Welker is moving on to the 49ers.

Welker played 12 years in the NFL and had five seasons with 1,000 yards receiving.

Welker was left off of the announced Houston Texans staff. The Houston Chronicle's Jon McClain pointed out Welker's omission and said he would do well in San Francisco.

Welker's role on the 49ers staff is unknown as of the publication of this story, but it's probably a promotion from the work he did with the Texans. He also joins a staff led by Kyle Shanahan, who is one of the most highly thought of young coaches in the league.

Congratulations to Wes Welker on the new job. He, and his new team, will face Kliff Kingsbury and the Arizona Cardinals twice in 2019.

Bring it on.
