Trial for Murder of Lubbock Woman Begins Tuesday
48-year-old Kody Dale Climer was indicted for the murder of his mother, Linda Wilhite, back in 2016, but a body was never found.
KAMC News reports that in August of 2016, Lubbock Police and the Lubbock Fire Department entered Wilhite's home to perform a welfare check. The situation was immediately treated as a homicide as large amounts of blood were found in the home.
Prosecutors say that Climer lived with Wilhite, and that her car was found with blood inside it as well.
An attorney for Climer says that "There are so many holes in the State’s case. I don’t know how they’re going to prove their case.” Apparently there were also bloody fingerprints that police did not process.
Climer was arrested a few days after the welfare check on 2 counts of aggravated assault, but was later indicted for murder.
