Jahmius Ramsey Adds a Star and Bolsters Texas Tech Recruiting Class Nationally
We've known about Jahmius Ramsey since he committed to Texas Tech last November. Since the commitment Ramsey has won a state championship, got a bobblehead, played at numerous all star games and dunked all over some other top recruits in the nation.
He's one of the hottest prospects in the country and this morning rivals.com rewarded him with his 5th star. That gives Texas Tech it's first 5-star commit to ever come to Texas Tech. Ramsey also becomes the highest rated Big 12 commit and the 21st overall prospect according to Rivals final rankings.
Texas Tech is also in on 5-star RJ Hampton who is the 6th best prospect in the Rivals rankings.
Ramsey's 5th star also cements Texas Tech as the 12 best class in the nation, right now, which is the number one class in the Big 12.
Recruiting rankings aren't facts and they'll change from site to site, but if you look at the teams consistently in the top 20 of recruiting, those teams show up in the tournament more often than not. They also give you notoriety and national respect because whether they mean anything or not on the court doesn't mean people don't pay attention to them nationally.
