The Texas Ranger’s Offense Proves Key in Wednesday’s Victory Over the New York Yankees
The Texas Rangers were looking to bounce back after a crushing walk off loss to the New York Yankees in game one of their midweek series. They would get some much need help from their offense as they pulled away from New York and won 8-5.
Texas starter Justin Grimm earned his seventh win of the year as he went five innings while giving up just three runs on six hits. The Ranger's bullpen also played a big role in the win last night as they shut the door once the Ranger offense was able to take the lead in the ninth. Yankee veteran Andy Pettitte was given the lost last night as he went six innings giving up three runs on six hits.
Nelson Cruz homered last night while Adrian Beltre (Pictured on the Right) and A.J. Pierzynski both added two-run doubles for the Rangers in the win. The three of them combined for six of Texas' eight RBI's on the night. The Rangers will look to take the series as game three is set for today. First pitch is set for 12:05 pm from the Yankee Stadium and can be seen on FOX Sports SW.
