The Texas Rangers faced off against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday from the Ballpark in Arlington.  They were looking to extend their win streak to three games against the struggling Royals but extra innings would prove too much.

Nick Tepesch was on the mound for Texas opposite James Shields.  Tepesch would have one of his stronger outing of the season but it would be all for not as the Rangers would lose 4-1 in ten innings.  Tepesch would go 6.1 innings giving up only one run on seven hits.  Reliever Robbie Ross would be given the loss for the game as he gave up the three runs in the tenth to give the Royals the victory.

The Ranger offense struggled all game as they could only manage one run on six hits.  Mitch Moreland gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead on an RBI single to bring home Adrian Beltre in the fourth.  That was all they could get however thanks to very effective Kansas City pitching.

Texas will look to rebound on Sunday and take the series in game three as they send Yu Darvish to the mound.  First Pitch is set for 2:05 pm from Arlington and can be seen on Fox Sports SW.
