The Texas Rangers Lose 6-4 in 11 Innings to the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday Night
The Texas Rangers faced off against the Cincinnati Reds in game two of their weekend series on Saturday night. Texas would stay close all game but the Reds were able to run away with this one in extra innings as the Rangers lost 6-4. The Reds pulled out the win on Devin Mesoraco's two-run home run in the top of the 11th inning.
Texas tied the game in the sixth with consecutive doubles by Elvis Andrus and Nelson Cruz but that was all they could get as they were shutout the rest the way. As a team, the Rangers only had five total hits for the game.
Rangers starter Nick Tepesch had a rough outing as he was only able to go four innings while giving up three runs on six hits. Reliever Kyle McClellan was awarded the loss as he gave up the homerun in the top of the eleventh inning which sealed the game for Cincinnati.
The Rangers will look to get back on track as they play game three of their series with the Reds. They will send ace Yu Darvish to the mound in hopes to take the series. First pitch is set for today at 2:05 pm from the Ballpark in Arlington and can be seen on FOX Sports SW.
