The Texas Ranger went for the series sweep of the Seattle Mariners yesterday as they took the first two games of the weekend series.  They would falter though losing Sunday by a final score of  5-1.  Seattle's starter Hishashi Iwakuma kept Texas off balance all night offensively as he went eight innings while giving up just one run on six hits to earn the win.

Texas' starter Nick Martinez took the loss for the Rangers although he pitched well.  He went six strong innings while giving up two runs on nine hits.  Robbie Ross JR. came into the game in another relief appearance but would struggle as he lasted just one inning and gave up three earned runs on four hits with one walk and zero strikeouts.

Texas will now begin a three game series against the division leading Oakland A's as the Rangers now sit at 34-35 which is eight games back.  First pitch is set for 9:05pm from O.co Coliseum in Oakland and can be seen on FOX Sports SW.
