The Texas Rangers End a Six Game Losing Streak as They Beat the Oakland Athletics 8-7
The Texas Rangers faced off against division foe and leader the Oakland Athletics on Monday night in Arlington. They were looking to not only gain some ground on the A's in the race for first place but end a six game losing streak as well.
Texas sent starter Nick Tepesch to the mound last night but he would have a rough outing as he only lasted 3.2 innings while giving up six runs on six hits. Some excellent pitching by the Ranger bullpen saved the day though as they allowed just one run the rest of the way.
The offense lead by Nelson Cruz and A.J. Pierzynski took care of the rest. They combined for seven RBI's as Cruz (Pictured on the Left) belted two homeruns and A.J. had one of his own in the win.
Texas' lineup was able to really get a hold of Oakland's starter Dan Straily as he was replaced after just 4.2 innings giving up six runs on eight hits. They will look to string wins together for the first time in more than a week as they play game two of the midweek series tonight. Yu Darvish will be on the mound for Texas with first pitch is set for 7:05 pm on FOX Sports SW from the Ballpark in Arlington.
