TikTok is currently full of videos using a song called 'Pope Is a Rockstar" in order to show off the accomplishments of those around them. The Lady Raiders decided to participate in the trend themselves with a video showing off one of their star players.

The player in question is the amazing Rhyle McKinney. McKinney is a freshman guard at Texas Tech University and she is already making a big name for herself.

Before coming to Texas Tech, McKinney played for the SMU Mustangs where she was third in scoring as a freshman with an average of 8 points and 2.5 rebounds during her first season playing at the collegiate level. Prior to this, she had an even more impressive average during high school. While at Argyle High School, she averaged 23.9 points with 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 steals. She was ranked as the no. 25 guard prospect by ESPN.com and was named to the USA Today Texas Second Team in 2019.

She has moved on to be an incredibly valuable player at Texas Tech. Based on this season's stats, McKinney’s season highs include scoring 21 points against Weber State, making three 3-point field goals against Texas State, as well as two steals against Ole Miss. This is just her season highs so far this year, we have so much more to see from her in the coming months.

Along with her incredible success with the Texas Tech Lady Raiders, she was also named one of the top Texas girls basketball players of all time by the UIL in 2021. It is amazing to see a woman from Texas be so successful and well appreciated by everyone around her.
