The Lady Raiders Look to Earn Their First Big 12 Win of the Year on Wednesday Against #4 Baylor
The Texas Tech Lady Raider will play host to Baylor on Wednesday as they try and knock off the #4 team in the nation. They know the task will not be easy as Baylor gave Tech their worst loss of the year thus far with a 92-43 loss in Waco back on January 29th.
Candi Whitaker and company enter the game still searching for their first win in conference play this year as they are 0-12 up to this point. The team will look for a big game from junior guard Amber Battle as she has been the most consistent player for coach Whitaker. Battle is fourth in the Big 12 Conference in points per game with 17.9 as she has scored in double figures in 21 games and is averaging 20 points per game in her last six contests.
For the Lady Bears, they are led by the nations most prolific scorers in Odyssey Sims. Sims continued to lead the Big 12 Conference and nation in scoring after her 33 point performance on Sunday vs. Oklahoma State. That extended her streak of double-digit scoring streak to 34 games and at this point she is averaging 30.2 points per game.
The Lady Raiders will be trying to find their first win since a 76-63 win over Florida Atlantic back on December 21st. Since then they have dropped thirteen straight games. Tip off for Wednesday night's game is set for 6:30pm from the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock.
