The Lady Raiders Fall to TCU 75-59 as Their Season Comes to an End
The Texas Tech Lady Radier basketball team had their season come to an end on Friday night as they fell to TCU by a final score of 75-59. Tech took a 34-33 lead at halftime behind a 53% shooting performance from the floor and 15 points by junior guard Amber Battle. She scored a game-high 23 points and Ivonne CookTaylor added a career-high 18 but TCU pulled away in the second half as they outscored the Lady Raiders 42-25. With the loss, first year head coach Candi Whitaker and company finished the year just 6-24 overall and 0-18 in Big 12 play. Battle, who was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team, was really the lone bright spot on the team this season. She was able to score in double figures 25 times in 30 games this season including nine games with 20 points or more. Her 16.4 points per game average (493 points total) is the most by a Lady Raider in the last eight years.
