The Houston Texans opened their season last night as they took on the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football to wrap up week one of the NFL regular season.  Houston's defense would have to play without the newly acquired safety Ed Reed as he was still nursing a hip injury.

They would find themselves in a hole early as Matt Schaub (Pictured on the Right) was intercepted on a pass intended for tight end Owen Daniels on the offenses first play of the year.  The defense did their job for the most part of the first quarter as the score was tied 7-7 after one period of play.  Then came the second quarter and that is where things went a little sideways for Houston.  San Diego would score 14 unanswered points and add another score in the third.  At 4:57 in the third they found themselves down 28-7 and that when they starter their comeback.

Houston would go on a 24-0 scoring run to end the game as it was capped off by a game winning field goal by Randy Bullock.  Bullock had missed a 51 yard attempt previously in the game but connected on a 41 yarder as the clock hit 0:00 to give the Texans the win.

The team will host the Tennessee Titans this Sunday with kickoff set for 12:00 pm on CBS.
