The Houston Astros Face Off Against the Tampa Bay Rays in Their Last Series Before the All Star Break
The Houston Astros are looking to bounce back after winning just two of their last twelve games. They will send their top pitching prospect, Jarred Cosart, to make his Major League debut. It won't be easy though as he will face off against Tampa Bay's ace David Price.
Cosart (Pictured on the Left) has spent this year with the Astros AAA squad Oklahoma City, where he posted a 7-4 record with a 3.29 ERA in 18 games (17 starts). In spring training he was 0-1 with an 8.22 ERA with his biggest problems coming with his command and control. He will need everything to be working tonight though if he wants to earn his first MLB win. Price is no slouch despite his 3-4 record and 4.18 ERA this season. With the sudden surge by Matt Moore this season, Price's struggles have gone unnoticed by most. Moore leads the team with thirteen wins and is tied for the most wins in the MLB.
The Astros are trying to get out of the cellar of Major League Baseball. They are on pace to have the worst record in league for the second year in a row as they lead the majors with 59 losses. They were a franchise worst 55-107 last season and finished an abysmal 42 games out of first place. First pitch is set for 6:10 pm tonight from Tropicana Field in Tampa.
