Former Texas Tech Head Coach Matt Wells only went undefeated against one man in conference play, and that man was West Virginia Mountaineer Head Coach Neal Brown.

Brown will play his first game against Texas Tech's new head coach Joey McGuire on October 22nd, 2022.

The Red Raiders will be coming off a bye week while West Virginia plays Baylor on Thursday before a 10-day rest heading into their trip to Lubbock.

We don't know exactly who will play QB for the Red Raiders or what the Mountaineers will look like after they play Baylor in Morgantown, but we do know what time the two teams will kick off on Oct. 22nd.

Monday afternoon, that time was announced as 2 p.m.

Texas Tech's game against West Virginia will either air on FS1 or FS2, depending on the MLB Playoffs happening over the next several weeks.

The rest of the conference also got their kickoff times, and Texas Tech isn't the only team waiting to see what network they'll be on due to the MLB playoffs. TCU will host the Kansas State Wildcats on October 22nd in a primetime affair and will either be in action on FOX or FS1.

My preference would be for Texas Tech and West Virginia to be on FS1 and the Wildcats and Horned Frogs to make it to FOX, but the MLB playoffs probably dictate that one of the pair gets the lesser draw.

For the good of the conference, I'd prefer the FOX slot for TCU vs K-State, but if the purple teams don't draw at least 3.5 million in the timeslot, they're dead to me.
